Star Wars: Raiders of the Lost Empires
The Sith-Imperial War
The Empire ruled the Core and Mid-rim for 96 years without incident. Starting with most basic trade lanes and ending with the re-emergence of sophisticated inter-system politics and economics, the galaxy re-grew. In the Outer Rim, the Republic Remnant and Yuuzahan Vong developed the criminally ruled and impoverished planets that fell under their jurisdiction. A new Golden Age had been established.
Unfortunately, a threat almost forgotten, emerged once more. In 216ABY, as he was giving a speech to the senate, Emperor Roan Fel was assassinated by a mysterious figure wielding a red lightsaber. Revealing himself as Darth Krayt he took control of the Empire by force. War ensued when the Imperial Knights used emergency powers to bestow Antares Draco, their grand master, onto the throne. From their fortress world of Bastion, the Empire-in exile and the Sith Empire fought. The Sith had managed to gain control of an astounding amount of the Imperial military structure and train thousands of Sith – abandoning the Rule of Two. The Sith gained the upper hand and laid siege to Bastion but were unable to break the defences. For 3 long years the Empire-in-exile held out until the arrival of the Republic fleet and the Jedi seemed to herald the defeat of the Sith. But Darth Krayt had fooled even the Jedi. His mystics had concealed the true size of the fleet which, in fact, contained a vast amount of Yuuzahan Vong ships. Darth Krayt had been the one to sabotage the terra-forming efforts so long ago and the Yuuzahan Vong planned to join the Sith in over-throwing the galaxy.
Realising the trap, both Imperial and Republic forces fought as if possessed. In a series of daring boarding actions, the Jedi and Imperial Knights fought Sith and Vong warriors and in the chaos it became uncertain who was even in charge of what ship. The massacre was near total on both sides.
