Star Wars: Raiders of the Lost Empires
The Rise of the System States
In 380-90ABY, about 120 years after the beginning of The Decline, societal trend began to revert back to sophisticated politics. This was, by necessity, gradual, but inevitable. Rather than a one or two galactic political structures emerging, systems instead established themselves as entities and began to look outside their own worlds. Trade began anew and alliances began to form. The galaxy moved from individualist worlds to a complex network of systems. Not everyone was peaceful, and wars were inevitable, but they were brief and localised – nothing like the devastation of so long ago – merely teething problems.
80 years after the establishment of the System States, the galaxy is settled and inquisitive. A rise of interest in history and culture is emerging and the galaxy is discovering just how much it has forgotten. Further, as States seek trade with more distant systems, exploration and the need to establish larger and more complicated Trade Runs has led to the rise of the Privateer. The galaxy feels as though it is being born anew, and there is profit and adventure on the horizon for those who wish to take it.
