Star Wars: Raiders of the Lost Empires
Pellaeon-Gavrisom Treaty and The Rise of the New Jedi Order
With the death of Thrawn, however, came the inevitable. The Moff’s of the empire vied for control and the Empire was fragmented: easy pickings for the Republic. By 50ABY, the Pellaeon-Gavrisom Treaty was signed and the Galactic Civil War was finally ended. The Republic controlled the galaxy without opposition.
Over the next half century a period of prosperity and peace ensued. The New Jedi Order was officially established as well, having finally regained enough numbers, and took its place at the Republic’s side to maintain peace in the galaxy. Although a shadow of its former self with only a fifth of the numbers before The Purge, the Jedi recruited voraciously and pursued a new doctrine of tolerance to other force users and flexibility in the ages at which one could begin training. When Luke Skywalker died in 84ABY, the Jedi Order was well-known and respected – if untested.
